Dan Blom worked in our repair shop for approximately four years. Near the end of his tenure with us he had risen to the position of Repair Shop Foreman. Needless to say we were well impressed with his work or he would not have risen to that position." "We have been in regular contact with Dan since he went independent and we continue to be favorably impressed with the quality of his work and his high degree of integrity."
I've known Dan for many years and I've had the privilege of working with him both in the Gruhn guitars repair shop as well as his own shop. The one thing I've learned about Dan and his repair ability. There is not a job that he is unable to do. When you send him an instrument you get it back in good playing order and looking the best it can. Dan takes a lot of pride in his work and delivers with 150% every time.
I am proud to say that I am a Graduate of Red Wing Technical Colleges String Instrument Design and Repair program. At 30 yrs of age a decision of what I wanted to be when I grew up needed to happen. Tired of the jobs a high school diploma offered me and the need to feed my passion for guitars, I decided to uproot my family and go back to school. Under the teaching of David Vincent on the guitar side and Lisabeth Nelson Butler on the violin side, I acquired the knowledge and skills to land a job at Gruhn Guitars in Nashville. Even though Red Wing has the longest existing program in the country, I was the first graduate of this school to land a job at the prestigious Gruhn Guitars. Red Wing gave me an incredible foundation of knowledge on which to grow and I highly recommend this school to anyone interested in becoming a Luthier.
